Michael Lash
Founder and President
Starting the business with only $100 and learning over the years that your personal business grows when you help others he quickly began reaching out to those in need and began growing and doubling businesses. He recognized the value in building meaningful relationships with his clients and thus it allowed for growth on all fronts. Mike’s goal was, and continues to be, to turn no one away and make any budget work. Mike started in radio and TV back in the late 80’s as an account executive for KOSI Radio and Channel 17 in Columbus, Ohio. Mike had a hands-on experience and learned that all medias are very negotiable. Clients over the years have experienced much success through Mike’s media buys because he oversees each buy personally. One thing lead to another and he soon learned the ins and outs of the print world and became an expert in direct mail and print media. He has created and mailed millions of pieces and is considered a “sage” in the printing and direct mail industry. Over the past five years Mike has concentrated most of his efforts on internet advertising along with planning and preparing marketing plans for hundreds of businesses. He has built his agency one account at a time, no matter the size or dollars spent.
Joel Heaton
Art Director
Joel Heaton’s design career started at the ripe age of 14 when his father gave him his first 35mm. After that there was no looking back. Joel’s creativity quickly grew with the help of his teachers who were constantly pushing him in figure studies, still life illustrations and photography. Sculpture, painting and design followed quickly after.
Joel attended a small college in Boston and also studied at the SMFA Boston after completing his undergrad. Throughout college Joel expanded, explored and adapted his skills. He took the time to learn Lithography, Advertising Design, Welded Steel Sculpture, African Dance and everything in between. He absorbed every art program he could get into.
After college he worked as a master lithographer’s assistant, bike messenger, carpenter and painter. In the early 1990′s when Adobe and Apple were really starting to get underway, Joel began his professional Design Career at the Boulder Daily Camera. Quickly, he learned the skill-sets to be a fast and efficient Production Designer and earned the position of Senior Designer. From silkscreening to large format he absorbed design manipulation, vector interpolation and rasterization as best as he could. He went on to become an Agricultural Designer for the Holstein Association, Senior Designer for WGBY/WGBH Boston, and a Medical Animator for Covidien Medical.
Joel has a background and great interest in forestry stewardships, nature, and antique tractors. He is an avid deep snow powder skiier and loves taking mountain turns on his japanese sports bikes. He has been back and forth between Colorado and New England the past 15 years. He has 2 children Isaiah and Lily.
Working side by side with Mike Lash has been a goal for the last two years. I greatly support his efforts and the mission of Denver Advertising.
