The Foothills Lighting Company produce residential and commercial lighting and works with the Pepsi Center and Flatirons Crossing. The company was moving an upgrading their facility. They wanted to host a commemorative event for the opening. The new facility was to be 50,000 square feet off of Sante Fe and Florida. The owners wanted to not only fill the space and bring recognition to the company and new facility but they wanted the people in attendance to be that of Denver’s finest.
Challenges
The Foothills Lighting Company’s new facility was 50,000 square feet and how do you fill a venue that large will the “decision makers” of Denver? We needed a new captivating way of announcing this event and one that would entice the key players we wanted invited. We need to ensure a certain level of curiosity amongst those invited and stir above around town.
Objective
Besides producing cross-promotional materials we had large-scale objectives to conquer.
• Get presidents and owners of large companies to attend opening party. Very challenging to get top-level management to attend any event.
• Create exposure to new facility.
• Promote services and merchandise.
Solution
We all know high-level management is often invited to numerous events; we had to make our event even larger and more exciting then the rest. We started with creating a new and exciting way of inviting people. We wanted our invitations to be like nothing ever seen before. After hours of brainstorming we choose to move forward with a popular child’s toy, the view master. Each invite was a view master inside a small box with custom made reels that were delivered. We thought that even if they did not come to the party we placed in front of them the client’s services and products to them through visual communication.
Results
Finally after hours of hard work the weekend approached. Thousands of people attended the two-day long party. An amazing number of high-level executives attended the event. Many new business relationships were formed.
