JOB OPENING – SALES POSITION

Description: Job Purpose: Obtain new customers by selling services and meeting customer needs. Duties:

*Pursue and obtain new clients for advertising agency, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors. * Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.

* Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers. * Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.

* Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

* Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.

* Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

* Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

* Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

* Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand customer requirements.

* Develops advertising budget by conferring with agency artists, copywriters, photographers, and other media-production specialists to select media and estimate costs.

* Obtains client acceptance by developing a campaign strategy; preparing and presenting proposals, concepts, storyboards, and other copy and print mock-ups.

* Guides advertising production by coordinating marketing research, copywriting, art layout, media time and space purchases, special display, and promotional items.

* Implements advertising campaigns by negotiating newspaper, radio, television, and billboard rates; authorizing contracts.

* Evaluates, adjusts, and redirects advertising campaigns by studying and analyzing sales results, demographics, customer satisfaction surveys, and other market research information.

* Maintains client confidence and protects advertising operations by keeping information confidential.

* Provides account information by answering questions and requests.

* Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

* Contributes to agency effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.

* Contributes to agency team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
